I believe in the HEALING energy of COLOR. I also believe that my technical ability to work with fabric and thread is a gift. Inspiration comes from the MUSE who guides the use of color energy and shimmering threads of illumination, as each piece evolves. COMMISSIONS are welcomed! I am happy to customize a design to reflect your preferences. Please feel free to contact me to discuss your special requests .

Materials: Cotton Upholstery Fabric, Jay Yang print; novelty, rainbow, & metallic threads
Statement: This commissioned piece is dedicated to its owner. At the onset of its design, an intention was set affirming that: "I AM the power and authority in my life. I release the past and claim my good now." This intention was repeated throughout the creation process and the energy of these words is the underlying theme of the design.
It had been determined that the kaleidoscope design would be used in a somewhat neutral palette accented with purple. After making several circular shapes, I began playing with their placement and auditioned background fabrics. The free flowing leafy pattern seemed to allow the circles to ‘go with the flow', signifying FREEDOM. The tiger faces soon found their way into the design, a symbol of POWER and Inner Strength. Since I didn't want to scare the casual observer with the prominence of the tiger faces, they were covered over with flaps that could be lifted to view their power whenever needed. This hidden feature signifies the Strength of the inner self or core. This strength is there for the viewer to draw on at anytime. Karen's handprint is worked into the surface design, making this piece uniquely her own.
It was my great pleasure to work on this piece since I have known Karen for her entire life and consider her to be one of my "Dear Ones".
