Dear One -
I have crashed and landed. Assessed the damages (chaos/ choices), and am now beginning to put the pieces of the puzzle in place to create a whole new picture. A whole new way of being in the world. Decisions have been made. My life has totally changed!
Someone recently asked me if I am retired. My answer is a resounding NO! Ron has retired from his 40+ year career. I've barely begun mine. Rather, I am calling it a 'time out' to regroup. Together we are going through a transition phase that is more like a metamorphosis, as one friend put it. We are changing almost everything in our routine and lifestyle. We are becoming 'snowbirds' as the locals call us. Relocating to Florida for the cold Wisconsin winter months.
As we start a whole new month with a fresh start approach, I find that my journey has taken a
considerable detour. We bought a house. When I saw this front door, I KNEW in my heart that I was home. Furnishing and decorating a new house takes lots of decisions and dreaming energy. I want to create a home with a comfortable, relaxed, casual but elegant style.
So the month of April was taken up with the hunt, negotiations, contracts, agreements, and furniture choices. Now that May is here, we are in the sign, seal, and deliver stage. Packing boxes, purging decisions, moving trucks, and more prayers of gratitude will fill the days until we are finally settled in enough to return to Wisconsin for the summer months. Whew!!
Although I am not taking on any new commissions at this time, my studio is still a very important part of my thoughts and energy. Entering submissions to various quilt shows, writing articles, and finishing up current commission pieces fills what studio time I do have.
These days, LIFE is a balancing act. My life mandala chart has several sides: Home/Family, Leisure/ Friends, Health, Society, Business, Personal, Finance, & Study. I attempt to pay attention to each section daily or at least weekly. BALANCE & GRATITUDE are my keys to success.
What keeps you on target to your life's plan? Any tips that you might want to share? I'm learning to 'keep my head over my feet' as one dear friend advised. I other words, be present in this moment. Where your feet are, your head should also be. Try it. Let me know how it works for you.
Until next time-
Live Your Light
