Dear One ~
As you may have noticed, I took a Spring break away from my everyday Life and Studio. Feeling completely exhausted and mentally drained, it was time to REGROUP - reconnect with my inner Voice and reassess my goals and dreams.
After birthing the Inspired Hearts / Uplifted Hands exhibit at the Waukesha Civic Theatre, I took part in an exhibit with the Milwaukee Art Quilters (MArQ) at the UW Waukesha Fine Arts Galley, Monday March 14 through Friday April 15, 2011. The Opening reception revealed the Common Objects interpretive small works of this talented group inspired by household objects. It was really amazing to see the quilts that were created from their inspiration. I am proud to be a member of this group.
Out of the Studio, I then spent twelve days with my grandchildren. With the experience of the 24/7 care of these precious little ones, I now have a new appreciation for the daily routine that these young families go through. Times have changed from when we walked that walk and talked that talk thirty plus years ago. I made a promise to myself to avoid all criticism of these young parents choices and lifestyles. Their routines are active and demanding. It is nice to know that I can still manage, however, I am happier with my quieter routine of the present. I have no regrets which is also a blessing to realize.
After the two weeks of childcare, I kissed them all goodbye and went on a vacation with my guy. We were able to relax, read, wine & dine, and play some golf. Playing with friends and quiet time with my guy had a rejuvenating effect. Time away from daily routines gives one a new perspective and a chance to analyze goals and dreams.
I read Joan Anderson's A Year by the Sea and A Walk on the Beach which I thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend for anyone who finds themselves at a crossroads and wondering which way to go. She has an easy style that keeps things interesting while offering doses of wisdom within the pages.
Taking time to REST, Regroup, and Reassess is an important part of LIFE.
"Wisdom is in what you are doing and feeling." Joan Erickson
Take some time for yourself, even if it's just a day or an hour, away from your routine to listen to your inner voice, see your big picture, dream your DREAMS!
"Everyday in every way, I am becoming better and better.
Until Next Time ~
I'll be here if you'ld like to share.
