Recently, Life and Living has been keeping me away from my writing practice. A sign of the times, I’ve been reading more than writing. Reading. Watching. Listening. Praying. Sorting. Purging. Organizing. Downsizing our inventory.
Enjoying the tips on the Minimal Mom YouTube channel. I like Dawn’s philosophy of less is more. And less represents less stress and more PEACE! Something that we all could use more of these days.
I’m going through the house mindfully rearranging STUFF. What doesn’t get used, and no longer fits our lifestyle, is finding a new home with someone else. I’m letting go of the past to free myself for the present. Making room for the new abundance to come in. Hanging onto things for ‘what if’s’ is no longer an option.
Marie Kondo has the right idea, “does this thing spark JOY?”
Now I am adding Dawn’s philosophy, “does this item bring me PEACE”? If not, out it goes!
I’ve decided to make a memory book of the personal things that I have treasured. No one in my family will understand their significance. They only have meaning for me. So I am taking a photo of the item and filing it in a special album. That way I can look back on a happy memory without it actually taking up space in our home. My goal is to have some empty cabinets and empty storage bins when I am finished with this project.
I’ve set a goal to go through everything by summer of 2021. It is becoming a review of my timeline. Learned sewing techniques. Teaching materials. Unfinished creative endeavors are being recycled. The idea is to be open for new ideas. Allowing for new creative energy to stir.
Less is More! That is the goal.
