Each day there is something new to discover about ourselves and the world around us if we are willing to take a deeper look at it through art. Art brings the subconscious to the surface. It makes us take notice of the world around us. As we look at an interesting canvas or read an inspiring paragraph, we are forced to be in the moment. That is where the magic happens. That is where life begins!
For several months now, we have been closed down. Separated from loved ones and friends. More than an arms length away from another human being. This is an unnatural state to live in. We thrive on connection. On community. No man is an island. We need each other to feel the energy that boosts our spirits. I personally, need hugs on a daily basis!
My art, in the form of mandalas, helps me to focus on the beauty in this world. When I am in a creative mode, all the separation and angst disappears. I become one with the MUSE who holds my attention on the single creative moment. As a new LoveLight takes form, I find myself in a place of gratitude. I am grateful for my many blessings, but especially for the gift of surrender to the moment.
It takes practice to be able to loose oneself in the art of becoming. You must take a deep breathe and a leap of faith to go where you have never gone before. Into the jungles of mystery where the magic happens and the art piece comes into being.
Doing a little bit each day strengthens the creativity muscles and confidence that allows you to find the MUSE, surrender to it, and do the work of your hands.
In her book, Marry Your Muse, Jan Phillips talks about honoring the time that you have determined to spend with the MUSE as sacred. Go into your room, shut the door, and spend as much time there as you feel inspired to do so. This is when the magic of creativity takes over. This is when the art takes form. The words are written. The pages flow. And you honor the inner voice.
Be prepared to be surprised by what is revealed to you!
Let Your Light Shine!
