Dear Ones~

Currently, we are watching the reports of Hurricane Florence hitting the shoreline of North Carolina. So many calls and texts from all of you has me thinking that the time is now ripe to begin the newsletter that has been on the back burner of my mind for far too long. I had promised to update you on our adventure and somewhere along the line, I dropped the ball. Please forgive me.

As many of you may know, last year we sold our homes and relocated to Fort Mill, SC just outside of Charlotte. It was an arduous adventure to settle in all the pieces of this huge puzzle. We made several trips back and forth between Wisconsin, Florida, and now HOME. Taking care of Oma's (my MIL) needs as well, with her advancing dementia. It has been quite a challenging time to say the least. Settled in now, I am beginning to look at how my hobby/passion will be taking shape going forward. Obviously, production of LoveLights over the past several years has been minimal. However, the desire to create them is still very strong. The several pieces that were made were commissions or gifted. All were well received.

Combining the two studio rooms that I had into one smaller space was also challenging. Furniture pieces (cabinets & bookcases) were sold. Fabric was purged. My years of collecting buttons and beads, fabrics and threads and raw materials to feed my creativity now definitely caused challenges when considering what to keep going forward. I still have boxes of fabrics that were moved to sort through at a later date. Most of my garment fabrics were purged.

It's very surprising how FREEING it is to stare unfinished projects down and make a decision to let them go. Our grandchildren are no longer babies, so all of the bibs, costumes, intentions, etc have been purged and Let Go!!

I have decided to focus on my ART. Creating new LoveLights and documenting all in a BOOK of stories about each one has become the focus of my retirement years. While living in Florida, I had joined a writers group and was encouraged and supported by a small dear circle of women to tell my stories. Their continued interest is my encouragement as I create this newsletter/blog post.

Stay tuned for the next update. I have some exciting news about exhibitions in the near future!

Until then ~ Stay Healthy. Be Happy. Give Thanks.
