Dear One -
This is another fine mess I got myself into! Our holiday is past. The tree and decor came down yesterday and is neatly stored (I'll tell you about that later), and now I am faced with this mess:
This is an image of my studio AFTER the commissions have been delivered and it became 'Gift Wrap Central'. As you can see, the piles and messes are everywhere. It's almost overwhelming! Obviously, I cannot be creative in this chaotic space. I need HELP!
While shopping during the past few weeks, I picked up a copy of Peter Walsh's 'It's All Too Much', and devoured his organizational hints while on our rest and reading (R&R) vacation. Now I am back and ready to tackle this mess to create my sacred space again.
FIRST - Clear all the flat spaces, finding homes for the stuff that belongs here and removing the things that don't.
SECOND - Purge the fabrics and books that have accumulated. Early in the pursuit of a hobby, I tried many different fiber related activities AND I sewed all of my own clothes and some for my children. Through the years, I have purged fabrics and patterns each time we moved into a new home. We have been here for some years now, and since graduating from wearable art to fiber art mandalas, I realize that I no longer sew my wardrobe or make clothes for the grandchildren. It is definitely time to let go of the fashion fabrics, notions, books, and teaching supplies.
THIRD - Reorganize the room into work stations with the tools that are needed easily accessible in each area.
Honestly, this may take a few days to complete, but I am totally committed. This is my goal! I am sharing it with you, making myself accountable. I hope to show you the progress made in the next blog entry. Thanks for wishing me luck with this project!
Until next time - Live Your Light!
