As the snow continues to cover us in a blanket of white, I find warmth in my studio. Gratefully, I have had several commissions this year to be used as holiday gifts which satisfies the need to create new 'LoveLights'. I find working on these personalized mandalas (sacred circles) very rewarding. Creativity flows, as do the days, to reach the completion deadlines.
The mandalas that I create are specific to the recipient, usually incorporating a name or a word message that relates to the person. Often the handprints of the person are stitched or painted into the 'LoveLight'. This makes these works of art unique gifts.
I believe that 'Colorful Art lifts the Spirit', so the study of color energy and symbol placement is important in my work. You may view more examples of these healing color Mandalas by visiting the Portfolio section of this site.
This holiday gift was presented last week. I am anxious to hear how the recipients enjoyed it. Their name makes up the design and their handprints have been stitched into the foreground. Ralph is an American Indian enthusiast, therefore the leather background, turquoise and brick red colors, and the tapestry-like fabric were all chosen for this 'LoveLight'. This original design was prayerfully constructed with MaryLou and him in mind.
As you can see, the weather doesn't bother me, as time passes getting lost in my designs in the comfort and warmth of the studio. It is where you will find me on these cold Wisconsin winter days. What are you doing to keep warm, may I ask?
Until next time ~ Live your Light!
