I have recently returned from a week spent up North in the cooler temperatures. Where it was requested that I wear the 'Mommy Hat' again. A challenge that seemed overwhelming at first, but proved to be an awesome experience.
A business trip opportunity for our son and daughter in law, left me caring for our six year old granddaughter and almost five year old grandson. The children were very well behaved given the disruption in their world. I did my best to keep up with their schedules and routine.
Thank goodness their mom left me copious notes on their daily activities. Packing lunches, bath time, and reading rituals where no problem. The challenge for me was keeping the time table of
We learned to play my favorite game: Beat the Clock.
I AM VERY PROUD OF MYSELF for not only surviving the week, but also, for living it with LOVE and JOY in my heart. We made some memories. Had lots of hugs and giggles. It was time well spent.
I have a new respect for the lives that these young mothers are living today. The children are kept busy. It requires tboughtfull scheduling of activities, time management techniques, lots of patience, making a game of everything, and STAMINA.
On this Mother's Day, I salute all mothers everywhere. Your contribution is enormous. I admire your labor of Love. And now I gladly return to my stage in life.
